1950s Record Watch Co. Chronograph
Between the 1920s and the 1970s, Doctors were given watches like these. They were used to measure the pulse of their patients. Some were issued with a pulsometer set for 15 heartbeats while others were set for 30 heartbeats. This one is set for 30 heartbeats.
Most likely given to a European Doctor, he or she would push the top chronograph button while counting their patient's pulse. Once they reached 30 beats, they would stop the timer on their watch using the top chronograph button again and the outside pulsometer would show the patient's BPM. Pretty cool, right? Obviously this is wildly outdated today and is of no function to us anymore. However, the history behind this piece is absolutely fascinating. Not to mention the original dial has patinated perfectly.
