Cyma Tavannes 1940

This Cyma Tavannes Oversized piece is just stunning. At 38mm in diameter, the early 1940s gentlemen would've been astounded by this watch. Cyma, founded in 1862 by the Schwob brothers (Joseph and Theodore), is french for "summit", which speaks to Cyma's obsession with perfection. In fact, by 1910, Cyma was one of the leading watch manufacturers in the world. From creating shock resistant trench pieces in WWI to making these oversized dress watches in the late 30s, Cyma's commitment to quality is evident, and this particular example is a testament to that. The original chrome plated case remains very sharp and clean. The originally white dial has patinated beautifully to a cream color. It is truly just immaculate. The hands are as beautiful as they were when they came out of the shop in 1940. The Cyma signed 15-Jewel manual wind movement has been recently serviced and its running flawlessly.
