Universal Geneve Polerouter

Thanks to Hodinkee, the Polerouter has skyrocketed in popularity, and therefore, value. Not that it wasn't popular before. Any Gerald Genta designed watch is going to garner much attention. In the case of the Polerouter, the attention and praise is truly warranted.
 
What makes the Polerouter great? The fact that it is one of Genta's designs (in fact, one of his first designs)? Maybe its all the different variations of itself? Yes and yes. However, despite all the different variations of Genta's design, the blueprint has never changed. And the blueprint is what makes this watch so great. The Polerouter is the definition of timeless. And this particular one is a perfect example of that timelessness. It is rare to find a gold Polerouter with a silver dial. Let alone to find the silver dial in such great condition. The reference, 869102-11, speaks to that rarity. The movement, a Universal Geneve Automatic Microrotor cal. 69, has been serviced and its running splendidly.
